We recognize the value of speedy and candid communications with customers, employees and the communities in which we live and do business. Whether its up, down or across, information "flows" at Tharp. Please visit us frequently to keep track of our activities and accomplishments.
  1. People Grow at Tharp

It’s no secret, becoming a “Purveyor of Fine Plumbing” is driven by continuous learning and craft mastery. Little wonder that the people recruited to join the Tharp team start their pursuit of journeyman plumber status by participating in the company’s in-house State registered and Veterans Administration certified plumbing apprenticeship program.

This program, which is a dynamic blend of web based learning, complemented with OJT and labs, was recently subjected to a comprehensive audit by the Florida Department of Education and passed with “flying colors” by surpassing the rigorous quality and equal opportunity standards required of registered apprenticeship programs.

This noteworthy accomplishment is a direct consequence of the praiseworthy contributions of Tony Chaves as the program’s Master Trainer and Aimee Tharp’s administrative prowess in managing the multi-faceted record keeping elements of this dynamic program.

Congratulations and “thanks” to both Tony & Aimee for their selfless commitment to promoting the success of their teammates!

  2. Unity = Winning Outcomes

Known for innovation and quality products, BrassCraft Manufacturing recently contributed $1500 to support the ongoing training of Tharp’s plumber apprentices.

Recognizing that what affects one of us eventually affects us all, BrassCraft’s generous financial support of our aspiring plumbers’ will strengthen our industry and ultimately promote improvements in the living environment we all enjoy.

All members of the Tharp team applaud BrassCraft’s leadership in uniting the industry to enhance the competencies of our craft workforce to deliver higher quality craftsmanship to our customers.

  3. Longevity Opens the Door to New Life Adventure

The entire Tharp team congratulates Hans Glatz for his nearly twenty years of stellar positive service to our company as Warehouse Assistant and wishes him well as he embarks on the next phase of his life by retiring at year’s end. While he will be sorely missed, we applaud his past accomplishments which have paved the road to a well-deserved retirement.  Good luck, Hans!

  4. Tharp Wins Two 2015 ABC Eagle Awards

Tharp Plumbing won the prestigious Eagle Award from ABC for the 1.1 million square foot Publix Distribution Warehouse with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Tharp also won an Eagle Award for the Orlando Citrus Bowl remodel project with Turner Construction Company. The Eagle award is the highest award given in the Excellence in Construction Awards Competition. It is earned based on execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, proper installation, extra ordinary effort, owner satisfaction, and other considerations. Tharp Plumbing is proud to have won a total of ten Eagle Awards over the past few years. These awards are testimony to Tharp’s dedication to living our Mission Statement: which states in part, “craftsmanship delivered on time, safely and within budget to establish trusting client relationships.”

Giving credit where credit is due, Chris Joyce expertly estimated both jobs. Publix was managed by Michael Williamson and Dave Horn, both of whom collaborated with foreman Bernie Leroy on this two year long job. Eric Charles excelled as project manager at the Citrus Bowl, which was the largest and fastest paced project in Tharp history. Eric worked with superintendent Rodney Marks, and foreman Buford Creech, who made significant contributions to the job’s on-time success. Congratulations also to all other employees who advanced these two projects into the winners’ circle!

  5. Welcome Aboard!

As the dynamic Tharp team enters their 40th year as the “Purveyors of Fine Plumbing™,” the company continues to experience an expansion of its scope and diversity of work.  To help continue this noble mission objective with integrity, senior leadership is proud to announce that Scott Fody has joined the management cadre as an Estimator in the Pre-Construction Department.  In carrying out his important responsibilities, Scott will apply his 30-plus years of plumbing/mechanical experience and industry knowledge to further strengthen the foundation of expertise that propels Tharp’s growth, while also providing momentum for the company’s carefully orchestrated dedication to providing exceptional service to current clients and selectively competing for new market segments and customers.

As a life-long “master plumber” and businessman, Scott has advanced the mission objectives of numerous plumbing and mechanical contractors, resulting in each entities’ growth in both sales and bottom line results.  Demonstrating a firm commitment to Tharp’s values and business objectives, Scott and his wife Sandy decided to relocate from Pennsylvania to share his talents with other members of the Tharp team and their clients.

Please join Tharp’s leadership team in extending a warm welcome to Scott, Sandy and their daughter (a student at Eckerd College).
