Tharp Wins Two 2015 ABC Eagle Awards
Tharp Plumbing won the prestigious Eagle Award from ABC for the 1.1 million square foot Publix Distribution Warehouse with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Tharp also won an Eagle Award for the Orlando Citrus Bowl remodel project with Turner Construction Company. The Eagle award is the highest award given in the Excellence in Construction Awards Competition. It is earned based on execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, proper installation, extra ordinary effort, owner satisfaction, and other considerations. Tharp Plumbing is proud to have won a total of ten Eagle Awards over the past few years. These awards are testimony to Tharp’s dedication to living our Mission Statement: which states in part, “craftsmanship delivered on time, safely and within budget to establish trusting client relationships.”
Giving credit where credit is due, Chris Joyce expertly estimated both jobs. Publix was managed by Michael Williamson and Dave Horn, both of whom collaborated with foreman Bernie Leroy on this two year long job. Eric Charles excelled as project manager at the Citrus Bowl, which was the largest and fastest paced project in Tharp history. Eric worked with superintendent Rodney Marks, and foreman Buford Creech, who made significant contributions to the job’s on-time success. Congratulations also to all other employees who advanced these two projects into the winners’ circle!
